Tracking the Need for TOW
What if you really believed in changing the world? Where would you start?
That question prods people of conscience in any culture; and Christians are no exception. Unlike other groups struggling to make the world a better place, Christians have four significant advantages:
- The Bible-contains universal principles useful for all of life and wholly true. In other words, Scripture teaches us the best way to live and serve in every facet of our existence, including our workplaces.
- These universal principles lead to best practice ideas---economic and organizational---that readily translate into superior results. They mesh well with the best economic and organizational principles, providing an immediate laboratory for transforming ideas into results. Change doesn't always have to be slow.
- God is active--We do not work in our own strength to transform the culture. God is interested in and engaged with each culture, and He empowers our best efforts with supernatural support through the work of the Holy Spirit. In other words, we are not working in our own strength to change culture.
-
Christianity has been the leading force for positive change in all of history. We have templates for transformation, making it possible for us to more rapidly transfer principles into practice. We've studied history, and we now know what works and what doesn't.
Why then, have Christians been unable to influence and transform their cultures, especially their workplace cultures? Click through...
