Portfolio Manager Marta Norton Sees Investment as Stewardship for a Company with Values (Video)

Video / Produced by partner of TOW

Marta Norton, Portfolio Manager at Morningstar Investment Management, says she’s stayed at her job because the company she works for shares her values.

I switched to investment management in October of 2008 right when the market was tanking. But the same mission that Morningstar has from an analysis perspective is applied to investment management: this idea of investors first, making decisions that are best in the market even though there’s short-term pain involved with it, making sure that you’re always focused on whose money this is – this isn’t yours, this is someone else’s – all of that is very much part of Morningstar’s mission. And it’s become my personal mission. It’s actually one of the reasons why I think I’ve stayed. I’ve been there since October of 2008 and I’ve stayed for many years. I think it’s partly because I feel so good about it from that perspective.
