College Students: We Want to Hear From You
Blog / Produced by The High Calling
Editors from The High Calling have been attending and presenting at Jubilee in Pittsburgh for the past four years. The organizers describe themselves like this:
The Jubilee Conference is about living faithfully in every area of life. For 36 years, we’ve invited over 60,000 college students to Pittsburgh to talk, learn, think, and dream about the public implications of their personal transformation. Jubilee is a conference like you’ve never experienced before. Whether you’re interested in engineering and science or art and music, law and politics or medicine and mission, justice and families or college life and the years to come, Jubilee will have someone speaking about what it means to be involved in those places faithfully. It’s a gathering of thousands of college students learning how to worship God with their whole lives.
Reading that, you can understand why The High Calling considers Jubilee such an important event!
After speaking to college students for several years, we decided it was time to turn things around. If you are a college student interested in the Jubilee vision, we want to hear from YOU. That's why we are hosting the 2013 Jubilee Essay Contest.
The Details
Write a short article (500-600 words) and tell us where God is working in your life as a student and how you hope to serve him in your career as a result. Be sure to spend some extra time here at The High Calling to get a strong sense of our editorial preferences. Then submit your entry at the Jubilee Essay Contest page no later than Tuesday, December 4.
A panel of judges will read your entries, and choose one winner to be published on The High Calling for 100,000+ regular readers via email and other channels. Even better? We’re going to give the winner a check for $1,000 at Jubilee. We're also going to be looking for honorable mentions that we can publish throughout 2013 for a small honorarium.
The Bonus Prize
Since we're giving the check away at Jubilee, we expect you'll be coming to Jubilee!
