Transcript:

You have to be very intentional about who are you going to build the company around. Because when you make a decision you’ve got to value the various stakeholders.

Most people aren’t very thoughtful about this. And they kind of meddle around. Sometime they make a decision for a customer, sometime for their profit, sometime for this...

We made the decision: Let’s build this company for our employees. It was the very simple idea that if we treat them well, we’ll inspire them to treat others well.

If I love my neighbor as I love myself, the odds are that there’s a better chance that they’ll love their neighbor. That’s how the world works. We are influenced heavily by the people who we meet in our life.

So it was very simple for me, from a perspective of faith, to say: we treat the employees well, the odds are they’re going to honor that by treating the customer well.
