Thankful in All Things

Audio / Produced by The High Calling

Transcript

Ted had been coasting lately. And he knew it. After a couple of great years in his job, he’d taken his eye off the ball. His boss dressed him down, and Ted knew he deserved it. But he didn’t like it.

At this point, Ted might have justified himself. He might have shifted blame. Instead he said, “Thanks for being honest. You’ll see a change.” Later, when he was alone, Ted prayed.

This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge. The Apostle Paul urges us always to be joyful, to pray in all things, and to be thankful in every circumstance—whether it’s our fault or not. That attitude would see Ted through. He knew it, and his boss sensed it too … in the high calling of our daily work.

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thess. 5:16-18)
