Lost, Late, Reactive

Audio / Produced by The High Calling

Transcript

Larry was late for an interview. In his panic, he grew reckless. He put the pedal to the metal and rocketed down the highway . . . in the wrong direction.

Now Larry was more than late. He was late and lost. His speed only took him further from his appointment.

This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge, and I’ve been on that road: lost, late, and reactive. We can’t always control our circumstances. But the panic factor? That’s up to us. The Psalm that says, “God is our refuge and strength,” also says “be still and know” that He is God. The next time you’re lost—in any sense—the best move may be to pause a moment . . . and know God . . . in the high calling of our daily work.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

(Psalm 46:1)
