Season of Peace

Audio / Produced by The High Calling

Transcript

It’s here—the annual season of goodwill and peace. But what do we mean when we say peace?

Commonly, peace means the absence of war, no conflict—a truce among people—living in harmony with others.

Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27 (NIV)

This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge. The peace of this season is a seed planted inside us by the One whose birth we celebrate. Let us receive His gift—peace that grows in the midst of trouble—and share it with others, in our families, our communities, and in the high calling of our daily work.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

(Phil. 4:6-7)
