In a crowded airport, David surveyed the monitors. Flight after flight was cancelled. Huge thunderstorms were causing traffic delays.

A gate agent told David he would be delayed at least two hours. Hearing the news, David took his boarding pass. He said "thank you" to the agent and started to step away. The agent looked up, startled.

"What's wrong?" David asked.

The agent said, "Since this whole mess began, you're the first person to say thank you."

This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge. Amidst the inconveniences, storms, and struggles of life, it's imperative to say thank you. That's why we set aside a day each November as a reminder. Whatever our circumstances, we thank God for all our blessings . . . in the high calling of our daily work.

And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying:

"We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty,
the One who is and who was,
because you have taken your great power
and have begun to reign."

(Rev. 11:16-17)
