Who Remembers Our Work

Audio / Produced by The High Calling

Transcript

Dr. Charley Gordon is a brain surgeon and author of In Plain Sight. One day, walking the halls of UCLA Medical Center, he spotted a worn, black-and-white photo of the hospital’s founding fathers. Near it was a sticky note: "If you can identify any of these people, call Marge at extension one-two-two."

"Think of it," Charley said, "in a few generations, the medical center’s prestigious founders were faces without names."

This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge. Monuments topple. Photographs dim. People forget. Yet, God numbers the hairs on our heads. The deal you close . . . all your money and marks . . . will fade. But God loves you forever . . . in the high calling of our daily work.

Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Luke 12:6-7
