I’ve worked for plenty of bosses in my day, and they’ve covered the gamut of human personality. I’ve had some that were all about freedom and results. They didn’t care how I did my work, as long as I finished it well. On the other extreme, I’ve had bosses who wanted to know every step and every decision. Stifling, difficult, and directive, they didn’t bring out the best in my production. I suspect the best approach is somewhere right in the middle.
