Bring Solutions

Audio / Produced by The High Calling

Transcript

“Don’t bring me problems, bring me solutions!” Those words boomed behind Brenda as she left her boss’s office. And she resented every word. The problem was not her fault. Besides, her boss should know what she was up against. Was she a miracle worker? This wasn’t her company.

Then came another department setback. Brenda’s reflex was to complain; but this time, instead, she made a few phone calls. She gathered recent research and asked questions. She weighed the options and, in her boss’s office, she reported the problem AND suggested a solution.

This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge. Problems may get short-term sympathy, but solutions build regard. Do you deliver bad news or good ideas? Problems or solutions? In the high calling of our daily work.

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Romans 8:37
