Mike Eaton of Greater Seas, a "Christian business blog for entrepreneurs and professionals with a desire to advance the kingdom of heaven in the workplace," says that as a Christian businessman, one of his favorite places to find lessons about leadership and entrepreneurship is the Old Testament. (As someone who recently completed a book about women in the Bible, I wholeheartedly agree. Because God's word is living and active, it has much to teach us about every subject, including business.)

Eaton writes, "God offers wisdom for today's professionals through the seemingly aged stories of kings, warriors, prophets, and leaders." These imperfect men--and women--dealt with jealousy, ambition, financial problems, and other seemingly-modern issues.

Greater Seas' blog post about how good leaders get led astray draws practical application from the Old Testament story of Ahab and Jehosophat. The two biblical kings listened to prophets who tickled their ears, instead of a man led by God to warn them--and the results were disasterous.
