Community Post: When Faith Clashes with Business

When you are in the business of manufacturing idols, you know that devoted Christians don't make good customers.

Demetrius was a silversmith in Ephesus who crafted jewelry in the shape of Artemis. He considered Christianity to be a threat to his business. And he was right. As Mark D Roberts explains, "Demetrius was worried, first of all, about the potential loss of income if too many people were to become Christians. Second, he was worried about the loss of glory for Artemis."

Most readers probably know Mark's work at The High Calling through his wonderful Daily Reflections. We definitely encourage you to subscribe to that resource here at The High Calling. But we also recommend Mark D. Roberts' thoughts on work and faith at his blog on Patheos.
