Dealing with frustration in the workplace

This world is in flux. And especially workplaces. Nearly every company is under some sort of financial strain, and managers are continually finding ways to adapt, to save, and to squeeze. Conforming to change is tough to do. We get set in our ways. We get comfortable in our routines. Despite our adventurous spirits, the truth is that we like predictable. Lisa Faye Harman over at the In This World blog has had to deal with some outsourcing. And it didn't go smoothly. She watched callers get bounced around from place to place. They were frustrated. “It was hard for me to watch,” Lisa said. And she would bring her frustrations home. “I began to bring the frustration home with me, complaining to my husband. I know I wasn’t pleasant company as I ranted and raved against the change.” But she found an answer in Scripture: “Do everything without complaining or arguing.” (Philippians 2:14, NLT) She writes, “I still didn’t like the new direction of the department, but the decision to obey scripture gave me a peace and joy in the midst of a difficult change.” Read the rest of the post here.
