Jack and John

Audio / Produced by The High Calling

Transcript

John’s friend Jack grew up in a churchgoing home. But Jack lost his faith. Both men were equally brilliant . . . even if they disagreed on life's biggest issues: the existence of a loving God.

So John continued to pray for his best friend Jack. And, of course, the two friends kept talking. One day, Jack saw the light. Aren’t you glad that John—better known as J.R.R. Tolkien—stayed the course with Jack—whom we know as C. S. Lewis?

This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge. The Christian’s goal isn’t to outwit or outtalk a person into belief in God. The goal is to love my neighbor as myself . . . in the high calling of our daily work.

He answered: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind"; and, "Love your neighbor as yourself."
Luke 10:27
