Transcript

John Gruden is the coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He likes to max out as a person, and he wants his players to max out too. That’s Gruden’s way of saying he wants to reach his full potential and for those around him to reach their full potential too.

To achieve that lofty goal, it’s necessary to give maximum effort, to commit to the task, to stay focused, and to fight through adversity. To max out!

This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge. We all receive opportunities every day to live that day to the fullest. Many opportunities come disguised as glitches, backfires, misunderstandings, or disappointments. Our job is to use our judgment and act with all our hearts—to max out in the high calling of our daily work.

"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."

(Matt. 5:14-16)
