Lin-Sanity

Audio / Produced by The High Calling

Transcript

They called it Lin-sanity: the crazy rise of a human meteor also known as Jeremy Lin. Early in the 2012 basketball season, for example, Lin popped a last-second—tie-breaking—three-pointer...to beat the Toronto Raptors. His defender expected him to drive. Lin calmly stood and shot.

Weeks before, as Lin’s short career was fading, a series of player injuries put him back in the game.

He played hard. Heavy offense. Quick to pass and assist. The NBA’s first U.S.-born Asian-American revived the New York Knicks.

This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge—also a basketball fan. When his chance came, an obscure player was ready—and Jeremy Lin responded to the high calling of our daily work.
