Must Be Present to Win

Transcript

At the company's weekly staff meeting, Jenny was determined to stand up and stand out. All night she worked on her report. Every page, every title, every bullet point had to impress. When Jenny finally crawled into bed, she was near exhaustion, and so she slept … right through her alarm.

In the end, not a bit of Jenny's hard work paid off. She missed her chance to present.

This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge. Christians can spend great amounts of time in church services, in Bible studies, in the Word. They can know characters, verses, and principles. And that's all good. But never let us so focus on preparation that we miss our chance to be present … in the high calling of our daily work.

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. (2 Tim. 2:15)
