Peggy Wehmeyer

Audio / Produced by The High Calling

Transcript

Peggy Wehmeyer was network television’s first religion correspondent. In seven years on ABC’s World News Tonight with Peter Jennings, Peggy covered presidents, prisoners, and news makers of every faith. Her work drew honors and accolades. To avoid bias, she worked hard to present all sides and pierce to the truth. Truth is a driving word for Peggy. Growing up in a messy family life with several stepparents, in a world with many fabrications and lies, Peggy longed for faith and for truth. As an adult, her passion found its outlet in journalism . . . and a remarkable career began.

This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge. None of us has a perfect life. Darkness may overwhelm us for a while, but it can become the light for a new direction—in the high calling of our daily work.

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

(John 8:12)
