Truth in Advertising

Audio / Produced by The High Calling

Transcript

In an African jungle, at the local watering hole, a tiger approached the lion. The tiger asked: "Why do you roar like a fool?" The lion laughed and said, "My roaring isn't foolish, Tiger. I roar to advertise. My great thundering announces throughout the jungle that I am king of the beasts."

Nearby, a rabbit overheard the conversation. The rabbit also wished to be thought of as mighty and powerful. So the rabbit hopped into an open field and let go a strong . . . well, a squeak. Hearing the squeak, a fox came to investigate and ate the rabbit for lunch.

This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge. Advertising may draw attention. But wise people broadcast only what they can deliver—in the high calling of our daily work.

"...humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you."
