What Hath God Wrought?

Audio / Produced by The High Calling

Transcript

“What hath God wrought?” That question from the Bible, Numbers 23:23, was the first official message tapped on the first telegraph in May 1844.

Long-distance communication has changed dramatically since dots, dashes, and Bible phrases. I don’t know that anyone recorded the first text message or the first twitter “tweet.” But something tells me neither had much to do with God. And that’s too bad, because He “wrought” them as well. God is the ultimate communicator.

This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge. In our hurry-up world of cell phones and instant messages, remember the many miracles—including technology—that God has wrought. In all the ways we communicate, it’s good to keep that message in mind—in the high calling of our daily work.

[L]isten to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. Acts 2:22
