Your Job Title Stinks
Blog / Produced by The High Calling
We all know people who are impressed with their titles, degrees and positions. They'll gladly tell anyone who will listen – and even those who don’t. Mike St. Pierre takes on this trend to impress people in his insightful Daily Saint blog. He quotes Abraham Lincoln, who said, “What kills a skunk is the publicity it gives itself.” St. Pierre says, “When you draw attention to yourself, it results in the opposite.” Trying to throw your accomplishments and titles around to make others like you actually has a reverse effect. There is a simple security in humility, one that doesn’t rest on the letters behind your name, rather the unspoken acceptance by God. Read his post, “Are you a Skunk or a Saint.”
