The Pain of Multi-Layered Relationships at Work, Entrepreneur John Marsh (Video)

Video / Produced by partner of TOW

What happens when you live and work in a small town where employees are your neighbors or family? John Marsh describes.

Transcript:

It’s a painful journey to be in business because everything’s questioned and everything gets more complicated. I mean, if you’re in relationships and people who are your friends work for you and you go to church together and they happen to be also your brother-in-law, well which one just talked harshly to them? Was it their friend from church or their boss or their relative? The relationships get multi-layered and you’ll have the potential to lose very close friends that you love, and you’ll have the potential for pain and suffering that you may never expect.

It’s going to come with both sides. It’s going to come with pain and suffering, and it’s going to come with great excitement and reward. And there’s no dodging it.
